Late Deaconess Rebecca M. Oleka, mother of a former Editor of Champion Newspapers, Lagos, Nigeria, Mrs. Cordelia Onu, will be laid to rest on Friday, September 24, 2021.
A notice by the family of late Chief Dr. Michael Oleka Orji of Ndi Imaga compound, Elu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State announced the burial programme of their sister, aunty, cousin, mother and grandmother.
The notice, by Mr. Eze Oleka (son), for the family, said that the programme started with a Service of Songs on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Assemblies of God Church, Ogidi Akaeze, Ebonyi State at 11:00 AM.
The programme for the Heroine that has bowed out continues today, Thursday, September 23, 2021 with a Wake Keep at her husband’s place, 28 Stadium Rd., Elu Ohafia at 7:00PM.
On Friday, September 24, 2021, there will be Lying in State at her husband’s place, 28 Stadium Rd., Elu Ohafia from 8:00AM, followed by a Church Service at Ohafia Central School and Interment at her son’s place, Isiama Layout, Off General Hospital Rd., Elu Ohafia.
On Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 10:00AM, there will be a Thanksgiving Service at the Assemblies of God Church, Ogidi, Akaeze to round off the programme for the Matriarch.
