Ahead of this Saturday’s 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match with the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Dar-es-Salam, the Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has acknowledged that he expected a tough game from the Tanzanians whom he described as a good side but in the same breath pointed out that they had come for the three points.

“I am delighted to be in Tanzania the game on Saturday will be my first competitive match and as a coach you want nothing short of victory but that is not to say it will be a walk in the park since our opponents have been training together for a long time”

“I expect a tough and tight game from the Tanzanians but we have to work hard as a team to maintain the traditions of Nigeria that’s why this match will be really important to us as it will determine how we move to the next step” Oliseh told supersport.com as the team rather tired from the long trip departed to their hotel,” Oliseh told supersport.com.

Asked about the absence of John Obi Mikel coach Oliseh tactically avoided the question instead responding that he had brought with him a very good side that could deliver anywhere.

Meanwhile, the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) has dragged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) before the Confederation of African Football (CAF), accusing Nigeria of failing to cooperate.

In a sternly-worded letter to CAF, TFF absolved themselves from issues pertaining to Nigeria while they are in Tanzania.

TFF President Jamal Malinzi accused the Nigerian FA of leaving them in the dark regarding their itinerary.

“We are really disappointed with the actions from the Nigerian FA which borders on disrespect to our federation. For starters they have failed to respond to our inquiries about arrival and even keeping a secret the hotel they are staying.

“We view such actions have been done in bad faith since we are the hosts and yet we have no information about our visitors. In these days of insecurity they are putting themselves in jeopardy since we can’t organise or secure their internal travel since they are not responding to us.

“In light of what has happened we have written to CAF absolving ourselves from any issues that might crop up while Nigeria are in Tanzania since they have flatly refused to heed our calls to provide information ,” Malinzi said.
