Akwa Ibom, Cross River get new INEC RECs

Following the retirement of Barr. Mike Igini, the immediate past Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC), Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Dr Cyril Omoregbe has been named the new INEC REC in Akwa Ibom.
The redeployment of Omoregbe to Akwa Ibom is contained in a press release issued by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC, Festus Okoye.
Edo State born Dr Cyril Omoregbe was the INEC REC in Cross River State until his latest redeployment to Akwa Ibom State.
He will step into the shoes of Barr. Igini, who retired from the Commission last week after a successful stint as INEC REC in Akwa Ibom State.
Dr. Omorogbe is a management and information technology security expert whose educational history is traced to the United States of America (USA).
He will be taking charge of his fourth state as INEC REC having also served in the same capacity in Cross River, Bayelsa and Delta States.
Dr Alalibo Johnson the INEC REC in Edo State has also been redeployed to replace Omorogbe in Cross River State as part of redeployments and postings within INEC as it prepares for the 2023 General election.
