
President Muhamadu Buhari has relieved the Sole Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Akwa of his appointment.
The decision was conveyed in a letter dated October 20, 2022 and signed by the Director of Press, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.
The Ministry hinged the decision on the need to allow for the inauguration of a substantive board in line with the provisions of the constitution.
In the same letter, endorsed by Patricia Deworitshe, the President also announced the constitution of a new management team and Governing Board of the NDDC.
According to the statement, the Board nominees will be announced later after due screening at the National Assembly.
