2023: Peter Obi, Datti Baba-Ahmed visit Sultan of Sokoto

In continuation of their wide-ranging consultations with major stakeholders in the country and beyond towards the February 25, 2023 Presidential Election, Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) and his running mate, Senator (Dr.) Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed have visited the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar in his Palace in Sokoto.
Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, the 20th Sultan of Sokoto, is also the head of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (Society for the Support of Islam – JNI), and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).
A retired top military officer, the highly respected Sultan of Sokoto, is the spiritual leader of Nigerian Muslims and Co-Chairman of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC).
The visit by Mr. Obi and Senator Baba-Ahmed is coming as the duo and other leaders of the LP continue with their country wide campaign rallies and meetings which have seen them traversing all nooks and corners of the country explaining their reasons for running for the nation’s Presidency.
