Peter Obi celebrates 62nd birthday with IDPs; Receives goodwill messages from Atiku, Otti, others


To celebrate his 62nd birthday, Presidential Candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has paid a visit to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) affected by the recent attacks by terrorists in Plateau State.
As part of the celebrations, goodwill messages also poured in for Mr. Obi from leaders across party lines and from different parts of the country, including former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti and Governor of Plateau State, Mr. Caleb Mutfwang.
Mr. Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, while in Plateau State, not only interacted with the IDPs and made a donation towards their wellbeing, but also visited the State Governor, Mr. Mutfwang.
Relaying the day’s event in a tweet, Obi said: “In line with my earlier humble request for friends and well-wishers to spread the love today (19 June, 1961 ) by visiting hospitals, schools and care homes to mark my 62nd birthday, I visited Plateau State to commiserate with the Governor and the people over the recent widespread unfortunate events, especially for the great efforts he (Governor Mutfwang) has made so far concerning the killings and terror attacks in the State, and for ensuring that the IDPs are well cared for. I commiserated with him over the killings in the State and encouraged him to continue to deliver good governance to the people. I also thanked the traditional ruler Mishkaham Mwaghavul, HRH John Putmang Hirse, for the hospitality, and assured the Mangu people that in the New Nigeria, their security and that of every Nigerian will be prioritized. -PO.”
Felicitating with the Mr. Obi, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar described him as said “a respected leader and distinguished former governor of Anambra state and presidential candidate of the Labour Party,” stressing that his “dedication to service and growth continues to inspire.
“As you add another year today, I, on behalf of my family and team wish you many more years in good health and vitality. -AA,” the former Vice President said.
Abia State Governor, Dr. Otti, in his message said he wished his “brother and friend, presidential candidate of the Labor Party, and former Governor of Anambra State, an indelible 62nd birthday celebration. My sincere prayer is that you enjoy many more years of good health, happiness, and prosperity.”
Governor Mutfwang, in his message said: “Today marks another milestone in your life, and I hope it brings you joy, fulfillment, and renewed energy as you continue to serve our great nation. As a fellow politician, I have had the privilege of witnessing your dedication and commitment to public service. Your tireless efforts in championing the interests of our constituents and striving for positive change have not gone unnoticed. Your leadership qualities, wisdom, and passion have inspired many within and outside of the country in the pursuit of goals with determination and integrity.
“Birthdays are an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and set new goals for the future. I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact you have made, and I am confident that you will continue to achieve great things in the years ahead. It is our honour to receive you today (Wednesday).
“When there are many options for the celebration of this special day, you decided to spend the day with IDPs in Mangu. Your unwavering dedication to the well-being of the people of Plateau State is truly commendable.
