NIMASA Skills Acquisition Center enhancing human capacity development through job creation

The Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has undertaken a tour of the NIMASA Skills Acquisition Centre in Apapa Lagos.
The Minister undertook the tour in the company of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy/Transportation, Dr. Magdalene Ajani and the Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr. Bashir Jamoh.
The NIMASA skills acquisition center in Apapa is one of the six spread across all the geo political zones of the country and the vision is to use the Centers to equip the Nigerian youth with requisite skills for self-dependence, thus tackling one of the challenges of the Blue economy, thereby improving productivity and employment.
The NIMASA Management, led by Dr. Jamoh is empowering youths through skills acquisition at the centers located at the six geo-political zones across the country and the programs are also to instill a sense of purpose and self-worth and promote social integration within maritime host communities such as in the Port city of Apapa.
The vision, according to NIMASA, is to tackle the problem of unemployment with the long-term goal of enhancing maritime security.
