Prof. Olu Obafemi delivers 2023 Convocation Lecture, Federal University Lokoja, Thursday, October 19
Internationally acclaimed Nigerian poet, playwright, author and Professor of English and Dramatic Literature, Professor Olu Obafemi, will deliver the 2023 Convocation Lecture of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
The Lecture, by Prof. Obafemi, the 76th recipient of the Nigerian National Order of Merit (NNOM) award (2018), will be on “The Role of University Education in a Society in Constant Transition,” and will start at 2pm.
It will be preceded by a Symposium in honour of the former President of the Nigerian Academy of Letters, titled “The Artist as a Revolutionary: Olu Obafemi’s Aesthetics,” which is part of the Convocation and Conferment of Doctor of Letters program of the University, which starts at 10:00 am.
Very Distinguished scholars from far and near have been invited to discuss the theme of the Symposium.
