Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, has expressed satisfaction with the completion and handover of the rehabilitated pitch and scoreboards at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja by Dangote Group and Aron Nigeria Ltd. The minister commended the private sector’s commitment to sports development and urged increased collaboration between the government and private enterprises to enhance sports infrastructure in Nigeria.

The rehabilitation of the National Stadium facilities is seen as a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to improve sports infrastructure in the country. Senator Enoh applauded Dangote Group for its substantial investment and described the collaboration as a positive example of the outcomes achievable through government-private sector partnerships.

He expressed determination to rectify this situation and emphasized the importance of the National Stadium in hosting international matches for Nigeria’s National Teams.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, also praised the partnership between the government and the private sector, emphasizing the need for significant investments in sports development. Representatives of the contractors, Aron Nigeria Ltd, expressed satisfaction with the project’s execution and acknowledged the cooperation received.

Senator John Owan Enoh concluded by pledging the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining the National Stadium facilities in optimal condition and fostering a strong partnership between the government and the private sector for the continued growth of sports development in Nigeria.
