Pastor Adeboye prays for God’s fire to consume those ‘messing’ with traditional rulers
The General Overseer (G.O) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has prayed for the fire of God to consume all those who are trying to “mess with” traditional rulers in the country, insisting that, as far as God is concerned, traditional rulers are anointed of God.
Three traditional rulers in the South West geo-political zone of Nigeria, the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba Babatunde Ogunsola, both of Ekiti State, and Oba Segun Peter Aremu, a retired General, the Onikoro of Koro-Ekiti in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, have been killed by unknown gunmen in the last few days.
Some other traditional rulers have also been attacked, killed or kidnapped in different parts of the country at different times in the past. The country has, generally, been witnessing killings, kidnappings, banditry and other forms of insecurity.
The highly respected Cleric, who said the prayers while ministering during the February 2024 Holy Ghost Service of the Church on Friday night, February 2, 2024, apparently in relation to the killing of the three traditional rulers (he did not mention names or circumstances), also said that apart from the fire of God falling to consume those responsible for such actions, nobody in their families will ever become great.
The theme of the February Holy Ghost Service was From the Mountain Top part 2 and Pastor Adeboye, whose key Bible text for the Service was Exodus 3:1-3 noted that when the fire of God falls, it purifies, consumes every source of sorrow, protects and activates potential, among others.
The Service, which featured intense prayers for the fire of God to fall, also witnessed praise and worship sessions, spectacular testimonies of miracles, signs and wonders, evidences of the faithfulness of God, and prophetic declarations.
Pastor Adeboye also announced that the Special Holy Ghost Service, which marks the anniversary of the commencement of the Holy Ghost Services, and which also coincides with his birthday, will start on February 29, 2024 and end on March 3, 2024. His birthday is March 2.
The theme of the Special Holy Ghost Service for this year is “On Eagles Wings” and according to the G.O, it will be “an extra-ordinary time in the presence of the Lord.”
