The Federal High Court has, Thursday, June 27, 2024, affirmed that Alhaji Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri SAN was duly nominated to serve as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the Edo State gubernatorial election coming up on September 21, 2024.
According to a statement by the LP, the “Judge stated clearly that the process of the nomination of Alhaji Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri SAN as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Labour Party ‘over-complied’ with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act and subsidiary Guidelines, as well as the Constitution of the Labour.”
The statement said further, that “the Court consequently ordered INEC to accept and process substitution of Alhaji Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri SAN as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, and accordingly publish his name in the list of candidates.”
