New CEO, Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Jennifer Adighije: Following a path of service

Engineer Jennifer Adighije, the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) is a chip off the old block, the daughter of Senator Chris Iheanyichukwu Adighije, a man who has dedicated much of his life to the service of Nigeria.
Senator Adighije, who represented Abia Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 2003 to 2007, was Federal Commissioner representing Abia State at the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) Headquarters in Abuja (2010-2015), and served as National Treasurer, National Republican Convention NRC (1990-1992), and as Secretary, Nigerian National Congress NNC (1988-1989).
The elder statesman, who has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), MPhil and PhD degrees in Geology from the University of Ibadan in 1973, 1976 and 1978 respectively, with his Course Work in Geophysics from the University of Birmingham, England in 1978, has served and is still serving the fatherland meritoriously in several other positions of responsibility.
His daughter, Engineer Jennifer Adighije, is following the same path of public service. A well trained and experienced engineer, Jennifer was within this current political dispensation first appointed Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (SSA) on Entrepreneurship Development in Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, before her present appointment as Chief Executive of NDPHC.
She had hit the ground running in her role as SSA, introducing several innovative ideas and programmes, especially to empower women and youths, within the short time she occupied the position, which must have recommended her for the more sensitive and critical national responsibility that has now been assigned to her.
A graduate of the University of Lagos (B.Sc Electrical/Electronics Engineering), Jennifer also earned an M.Sc in Telecomms Networks at Queen Mary University of London, graduating best in her class with a Distinction before returning to Nigeria in 2006 to join telecommunications giants, Globacom.
She later joined Helios Towers Nigeria (HTN) as Head-Project Management Office, leading to HTN achieving the Sale and Lease-back contract with Airtel Nigeria, the first of its kind in Africa.
She explored entrepreneurship for a while, but until her appointment as SSA to President Tinubu, was a key player in the Procurement Department at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
A visionary and goals driven personality with missionary zeal, Engr. Jennifer Adighije, who loves reading, cooking and making social impact, is expected to lead members of the new management team of the NDPHC, to consolidate and effectively manage the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP).
The other members of the management team appointed as executive directors by President Tinubu to assist Engr. Adighije in her new national assignment include Engineer Abdullahi Kassim (Generation), Bello Babayo Bello (Networks), Emmanuel Umeoji (Corporate Services), Omololu Agoro (Finance & Accounts), Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama (Strategy and Commercial) and Barrister Steven Andzenge (Legal Services).
It is expected that she will excel in her present place of service, following the examples set for and, indeed, as she has shown in her past places of services.
