Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi has hailed the choice of Professor Epiphany Azinge as the Asagba of Asaba-Elect, stressing that “at this critical time in our national life, Nigeria needs quality leaders in various segments of our leadership structure to reset this country for the required development and progress.”
Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, in a post on his X (former twitter) handle, while noting that Prof. Azinge is “indisputably an excellent choice” for the position, congratulated the Asagba-Elect and the people of Asaba, especially the kingmakers for the transparent and rancour-free process that produced the incoming monarch.

I join other lovers of quality leadership and well wishers in felicitating with the newly elected 14th Asagba of Asaba Kingdom of Delta state, Professor Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN.
Prof Azinge’s election falls in line with the long tradition of the Asaba people in going for excellence in their choice of leaders, particularly in their monarchial lineage.
Prof Azinge is indisputably an excellent choice going by his exceptionally rich credentials in various careers as an uncommon scholar and erudite lawyer.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the Asagba-elect of Asaba will bring his enviable wealth of experience to the royalty of the Asaba Kingdom.
At this critical time in our national life, Nigeria needs quality leaders in various segments of our leadership structure to reset this country for the required development and progress.
