Abia Deputy Governor, Mr. Ikechukwu Emetu says that Abia and Aba Mega Mall at Osisioma LGA are ready for the hosting of the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair starting today, November 28.
Emetu disclosed this on Wednesday during the final inspection of Aba Mega Mall, the venue of the Trade Fair.
The deputy governor while addressing newsmen after the inspection, said that he is satisfied with the level of preparation put into hosting the Trade Fair.”
Here we have a conducive environment for our industrialists and business people of all levels.
“A lot of companies have shown support and with what I am seeing here today, I am satisfied that we are prepared for the trade fair”, Emetu said.
He expressed government’s joy that Aba residents are aware of the upcoming event and are also ready to be wonderful hosts.
Emetu said government had done a lot including passing information about the 10 day event to the people through different media.
“The State Orientation Agency, has been notifying our residents more about the event.
“There has also been door-to-door sensitization in conjunction with the Aba Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA).
“We have been communicating with the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to reach the various Local Government Areas to showcase themselves to the world”, he said.
The deputy governor said Aba people have always been industrious and hardworking.
He said the presence of government in the fair is just an icing on the cake for Aba people.
“We promised to make things easier for them. They don’t even need much, except a few things like good roads and security. We urge everyone to take part”, he said.
The Chairman of Aba International Trade Fair Planning Committee, Chief Nwaka Inem, said that the booths are ready for the companies that have already subscribed for participation.
He noted that the committee has also made provisions for others that have indicated interest to participate in the fair.
“Some of the companies participating have arrived and the stands are currently being decorated and branded, by their owners so, we are ready”, Inem said.
News Agency of Nigeria NAN reports that the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair, will kickoff today, Thursday, November 28 and run through to December 7.
