A major Golfing Revolution has started in Ogbomosoland, Oyo State, as the 2nd Oba Ghandi Golf Tournament, put together to celebrate the first Anniversary of the Coronation of Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, was rounded off on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
What started off as part of activities to usher the Ogbomoso King unto the throne of his forefathers has grown bigger and better with higher caliber Golfers coming in from across the country and beyond to be part of this edition of the Tournament.
The Kabiyesi (King) himself was part of the exciting sporting programme which has the promise of becoming a major international event that would, in the coming years, attract the best Golfers in the world to Ogbomosoland to compete for honours.
Oba Olaoye was presented with the staff and instrument of office as the Soun of Ogbomosoland on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at a spectacular coronation ceremony with dignitaries from all over the world in attendance.
The 2nd Oba Ghandi Golf Tournament started on Thursday, December 19 and ended Saturday, December 21, 2024, with many memorable moments.
