New Jersey: Wellness restaurant, Pure Green Juice Bar, set to open in Hoboken

By Isiah Christie

Healthy eating is in, and that continues to show in North Jersey’s influx of wellness-focused eateries. Many popular franchises and businesses of this nature have flooded the area, including the fast-rising Jersey Shore-based franchise, Playa Bowls. Notwithstanding the growing number, it looks like a new competitor has arrived in town, known as the Pure Green Juice Bar.

The new wellness location opening in Hoboken, The Pure Green Juice Bar, is slated to provide another high-quality option for organic eating in the area, to diversify the city’s plate. Considering the general youthful energy of Hoboken, Pure Green is a great addition to a very health-conscious and open-minded population – especially in the summertime, where fruit bowls and smoothies are more desired than ever.

Pure Green’s mission is to educate the population on the importance of proper health and superfoods, which are essentials the human body needs to maintain long-term wellness and day-to-day optimum performance. “Our mission is to build healthier communities around the globe by connecting people with superfoods,” their official website states. They began in 2014, emerging in New York City with a few smaller locations; ever since, they have expanded into inter-state territory with a surge in their popularity and demand. Pure Green now has over sixty open locations in twenty-four states, including its native New York, California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and more. New Jersey in particular has hosted two locations, in Princeton and Bridgewater – and Hoboken will be their third.

Their core values are split into four focal sectors – educating guests, providing tasty and nutritious meals, creating memorable connections, and striving for continuous improvement. Having a chain so dedicated to upholding values and providing a top-tier experience is a major green flag for potential customers, and during these hot summer days, one of their specialty meals or dishes will certainly hit the spot.

Among their most popular specialty menu items are their superfood smoothies, which come packed with organic ingredients and range from fruit drinks, protein smoothies and coffees; their acai and pitaya bowls, which can be decorated with a range of toppings; their steel-cut oatmeal bowls, which are made with organic steel-cut oats and can be similarly decorated. Their superfood toasts with a variety of fruit toppings and spreads, and their cold-pressed juices and juice shots, which provide an energy boost to any consumer.

This Hoboken location for Pure Green will replace Cafe Unibread, a beloved local bakery that suffered from an eviction. An opening date has yet to be announced, but can be tracked on their newfound social media page or website.
