Bandits abduct 11 residents in fresh attack on Kwara community

Bandits have launched another attack in Kwara State, abducting 11 residents — including a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers and several children — in Isapa, Ekiti Local Government Area.

The incident happened at about 6:00 p.m. on Monday, coming just a week after 38 worshippers kidnapped from Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, Eruku, were released.

According to witnesses, between 20 and 30 armed men stormed the quiet farming community with a large herd of cattle and began shooting, forcing residents to flee.

A community leader, who confirmed the attack, said seven of the victims were from the same household. He described it as the worst attack the community had witnessed recently, adding that fear now grips the entire area.

Residents identified the abducted persons as:
* Talatu Kabiru, 20
* Magaji, 6
* Kande, 5
* Hadiza, 10
* Mariam, 6
* Saima, 5
* Habibat
* Fatima Yusufu
* Sarah Sunday, 22 (pregnant)
* Lami Fidelis, 23 (nursing mother)
* Haja Na Allah (nursing mother)

Eyewitnesses said the attackers moved through several parts of the community, leaving bullet holes in walls and doors. Spent AK-47 shells were later recovered after the gunmen escaped into the bush with their captives.

Residents say they remain on edge, uncertain about what may happen next as insecurity continues to rise in the area.
