Mrs. Nimota Okoro has resumed duty as the new Sector Commander, RS 9.4, Imo Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Okoro, a Corps Commander, confirmed this while addressing newsmen at the command’s headquarters, in Owerri, on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Okoro resumed in Imo on April 8, 2026, following her promotion from the rank of Deputy Corps Commander to the rank of Corps Commander.
She thanked the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, for the promotion and redeployment, and pledged to discharge her constitutional duties accordingly.
She promised to rejig the Corps’ operations in the state with a focus on discipline and welfare of officers.
She also said that the FRSC would continue to cooperate with other sister agencies of government for the benefit of Imo people.
“We will rejig the operational system, step up operational activities and improve the welfare of our officers, while instilling discipline and curbing corruption to its barest minimum.
“There will be improved strategic collaboration and stakeholders’ engagement with sister agencies for improved service delivery to Imo people,” she said.
She advised the motoring public to avoid distractive driving and maintain a 100 per cent concentration while driving to reduce the spate of road crashes, adding that “road safety is a shared responsibility.”
