Family announces burial arrangements for Matriarch, late Nneoma Ezinne Mrs. Joy Iwuchukwu

The family of the late Chief Brendan Ogbuagu Iwuchukwu of Umuagha, Umuezeala-Ama, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, has announced the burial arrangements for their Matriarch, Nneoma Ezinne Mrs. Joy Iwuchukwu nee Onwukwe Oparaebo, who died recently at the age of 82.
The family made the announcement with deep sadness, while accepting the death of their beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, mother-in-law and Aunty, as the will of God.
The burial programme, announced through a notice signed on behalf of the family by Brendan Ezeigbo Iwuchukwu, will begin on Thursday, September 3, 2026, with a Vigil Mass and Wake at her husband’s compound in Umuagha, Umuezeala-Ama, from 4:00pm.
On Friday, September 4, her body will leave Mbano Joint Hospital Mortuary for her husband’s compound at 8:00am.
Her body will lie in state at the family home before a funeral church service at St Paul’s Catholic Church Parish, Umuezeala-Ama, Ehime Mbano, at 11:00am.
Interment and a reception will follow immediately after the church service at her husband’s compound.

A Thanksgiving Mass will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at St Paul’s Catholic Church Parish, Umuezeala-Ama, at 9:00am.
The bereaved family described Mrs. Iwuchukwu as a home builder, role model and great woman mobiliser who devoted her life to her family, the church, community and humanity.
According to the family, their departed Matriarch was a philanthropist of note, known for her love, care, humility, sincerity and dedication to the service of others.
The burial committee has called on friends, individuals and organisations to send tributes and condolence messages in honour of the late Nneoma Ezinne Mrs. Iwuchukwu.
