The New Jersey Civic Information Consortium (NJCIC) has welcomed Professor Kathryn Quigley to its Board of Directors as Rowan University’s newest appointee.
Kathryn serves as Chair of the Department of Journalism at Rowan University, New Jersey, USA, where she also coordinates the department’s internship program and previously advised The Whit student newspaper for more than a decade. Her research focuses on media ethics and journalism serving children and families.
Before joining academia, Kathryn spent more than 12 years as a daily newspaper reporter in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Florida. She continues to work as a freelance journalist and essayist. A Philadelphia native, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and her master’s degree from the University of Maryland.
Kathryn brings decades of newsroom experience, a deep commitment to journalism education, and a passion for preparing the next generation of journalists. NJCIC is excited to welcome her perspective and expertise as the Consortium continues its work to strengthen New Jersey’s civic information ecosystem.
Kathryn succeeds Professor Carl Hausman as Rowan University’s representative on the NJCIC Board of Directors. Following Carl’s retirement from teaching at Rowan University, the University appointed Kathryn to continue its representation on the Board.
