New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists announces officers, Board for 2026-2027
The New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists (NJ-SPJ) has announced officers and board for 2026-2027. Terms of office of the new leaders run until July 1, 2027.
The board leadership includes:
- Walt Kane, president, lead investigative reporter for News 12
- Jane Primerano, vice president, New Jersey journalist and freelance reporter for American Farm Publishing, The Sussex Journal and New Jersey Hills Media Group
- Adrienne J. Romero, vice president, award-winning journalist and co-founder of Slice of Culture
- Bob Schapiro, secretary, Emmy Award-winning journalist and documentarian and past president of NJ-SPJ
- Steve Tettamanti, treasurer, executive director/CEO of The New Jersey Historical Society
- P. Kenneth Burns, immediate past president, award-winning journalist and New Jersey reporter and news host for WHYY
- Kimberly Avalos, video journalist and documentary filmmaker
- Isaac Avilucea, reporter for Axios covering Philadelphia
- John Berry, editor of The Trentonian
- Neidy Gutierrez, co-founder of Slice of Culture
- Krystal Knapp, founder of The Jersey Vindicator
- Steve Lubetkin, news director for State Broadcast News
- Susmita (Suzzy) Majumder, columnist with Presence News
