Women-led organisations across Cameroon are set to gather in Yaoundé on Thursday, 27 August 2026, for the National Conference of Women-Led Organisations 2026.
The one-day event, organised by the Network of Women-Led CSOs in Cameroon (NEWOLEC), will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF), with support from UN agencies and development partners.
The theme of the event, which starts at 08:00AM and ends at 06:00PM is “Women Led Organisations as Catalysts of Peace, Inclusive Development and Gender Justice,” and more than 300 participants from across Cameroon are expected to attend.
The conference will bring together women leaders, civil society organisations, development partners, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting women and promote greater participation in leadership and development.
The programme will feature panel discussions involving inspirational speakers, women leaders and development partners. Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their businesses, innovations and skills at a mini fair.
Outstanding women leaders who have made contributions to their communities will also be recognised with awards for their service.
A major highlight of the conference will be the launch of the Yaoundé Declaration, through which women are expected to renew their commitments to gender equality, peace and sustainable development.
Organisers say the declaration is expected to serve as a call for stronger action and cooperation among women-led organisations across Cameroon.
The conference will take place at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé from 8:00am.
The organisers have urged women and other stakeholders to attend the event and be part of what they describe as an important moment for women’s leadership and development in Cameroon.
