Gov. Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti has dissolved the state executive council ahead of his second-term inauguration on Oct. 16.
The governor announced the dissolution during the valedictory meeting of the Council on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.
The dissolution, which affected members of the 2022–2026 Executive Council, excluded the Chief of Staff (CoS), Niyi Adebayo and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Habitat Adubiaro, who retained their positions.

He noted that their contributions were critical to the achievements recorded by his administration in the last four years.
The governor commended them for their roles in implementing government policies and programmes, which he said had contributed to the development agenda of his administration.
