Sowore’s AAC wants approval to hold Campaign Council inauguration at Aso Rock
Omoyele Sowore’s African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a letter dated 21 October 2026, the party requested permission to hold the ceremony on 11 November 2026.
The letter, signed by the AAC National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, also asked the Presidency to provide food, drinks and other logistical support for 5,000 participants expected to attend the event from Nigeria and abroad.
The party said its request was based on the need for fairness, political inclusion and equal treatment of political parties.
It also referred to reported arrangements made for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a similar political event, arguing that other parties should receive equal treatment.
The AAC said approving its request would show the Presidency’s commitment to multiparty democracy and ensure that public institutions serve all Nigerians without political discrimination.
The party also asked the President to provide information on the procedures and conditions for approving the request.
The letter was addressed to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
