The Bureau of the FIFA Council has approved the appointment of a Normalisation Committee to manage the affairs of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) pending fresh elections into its Executive Committee.

The approval was conveyed in a letter signed by FIFA Secretary-General, Mattias Grafström, and addressed to Emmanuel Ikpeme, the Acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

According to the letter, the committee will comprise a suitable number of members to be jointly appointed by FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as soon as possible.

It stated that the committee’s tenure would end upon the completion of its assigned tasks, but no later than May 31, 2027.

The letter further stated that members of the Normalisation Committee would not be eligible to contest any of the positions to be filled during the forthcoming NFF elections.

Meanwhile, the NFF Secretariat will continue to handle the federation’s day-to-day operations and the administration of football in Nigeria pending the appointment of the committee.
