
The USAID Civil Society Project has announced that the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Luke Onofiok will be leading a team of seasoned panelists at the 6th edition of the innovative 2.0 Mindset Series in Akwa Ibom State.
According to Jennifer Onyejekwe, Public Awareness and Communications Advisor, the Uyo meeting, holding on April 6, 2016 by 6pm with the theme “Effective Advocacy, Strategies and Tactics: What works?” will take place at Daaty Hotel, Plot 4, D-Line, Ewet Housing Estate, By AKIPOC, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The 2.0 Mindset Series, organized by USAID Civil Society Project Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement, is a sequence of discourses to share the skills and experience of successful practitioners and change agents and supply side recipients of such. It aims to strengthen the capacity of the Project partners, their collaborators, and the wider public on ‘what works’ in advocacy efforts.
Other speakers at the 2.0 Mindset Series include veteran youth development activist, Adaku Ekpo and the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State CSO Forum, Dr. Harry Udoh
The Chief of Party of the USAID Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement Project commented: “We are delighted that we can host this series of dialogue forums that brings key governance stakeholders together to learn from one another. The project is sure that this innovative venture will prove to be an excellent endeavor, and extremely useful to all those who participate.”
The 2.0 Mindset series provides a platform where experience from different governance experts can be shared; identify and discuss challenges that advocates for policy reforms face; and most efficient ways to address the challenges
The innovative 2.0 Mindset Series dialogue was first held in Abuja in December 2015. Other cities across the country including Lagos, Owerri and Kano have also hosted the event.
Members of the public representing key stakeholders are encouraged to attend and participate at the Uyo edition.
