Alhaji Umaru Mutalllab, the Chairman of Jaiz Bank, announced the approval on Monday while addressing newsmen.
Mutallab said the apex bank gave the approval last week, adding that Jaiz Bank could now operate in all parts of the country.
He said the bank currently had 25 branches in 13 states in the north and would begin to open branches in all the states of the federation.
“Jaiz bank was licensed about three years ago and we now has about 25 branches.
“Just last week, the CBN which is the regulator of the banking sector granted us a national licence after meeting all their regulatory requirements.
“This means we can now operate from all the states of the federation. We hope that within the next two to three years, we should be able to cover all the states,’’ he said.
Jaiz bank is the first and only non-interest bank in Nigeria, operating in line with the principles of Islam.
