Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has vehemently denied a report that he received Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu on his arrival from Abuja, where the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, issued him a Certificate of Return, en route Abia State.
According to a statement by Gov. Ugwuanyi’s media aide, Louis Amokwe, the “ misleading report making the rounds in the social media” should be disregarded as “it is false and misleading.”
The statement stressed that Gov. Ugwuanyi was not at the Enugu Airport “to receive anybody,” stressing that at the time he was said to be at the airport receiving Ogar, he was “in the office discharging his official duties as Governor.”
