South-South APC lauds President Buhari over Umana’s appointment as MD Oil/Gas Free Trade Zone Authority

The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing the former governorship candidate of the party in the just concluded general elections in Akwa Ibom, Obong Umana Okon Umana as Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone Authority.
The news of Obong Umana’s appointment which was broken by the media Monday, swept across the zone like wild fire particularly, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Rivers States as supporters and political associates took to the social media platforms to drop their goodwill messages and felicitations.
The latest, is the Zonal National Vice-Chairman of APC, Ntufam Hilliard Eta who described the gesture extended to Obong Umana by Mr President as well deserved. According to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bassey Ita and made available to the media, Ntufam Eta expressed absolute satisfaction and confidence that, the development would bolster confidence in the party and members from the region.
“On behalf of the Zonal Executive Committee and entire members of the party, I felicitate with Obong Umana Okon Umana on his appointment as Managing Director(MD) of the Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone Authority by Mr President. Umana’s appointment is well deserved and further affirms the recognition of hard work, excellence and meritorious services which are the hallmark of his personality.”
While also expressing his gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for the appointment of the Akwa Ibom born APC Chieftain, Umana noted that, the people of the South-South would by this singular gesture build increasing confidence in President Buhari to fix the country using men and women of proven integrity, capacity and sincerity. Ntufam Eta however, urged the people of the region to support the ongoing effort of the Federal Government to repair the economy and win the war against terror and corruption.
