Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has visited Ebonyi State to carry out peer review of some developmental projects embarked on by his counterpart, Engr. David Umahi.

Ikpeazu arrived in the Ebonyi State Government House, Abakaliki on Thursday evening in company with some civil engineers and was taken round Flyover projects located at Abakaliki International Market, Akanu Ibiam Roundabout and Presco Junction on the Transahara Highway by Governor Umahi.

The Abia governor, who was visibly impressed by the developmental projects of Governor Umahi described the three flyovers as huge.

Umahi, according to a statement on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Emma Anya, explained that Ikpeazu was in the state to look at the flyovers as he plans to embark on similar projects to de-congest Alaoji axis of Aba-Port Harcourt Road.

He said,” Governor Ikpeazu came to look at the few things we are doing. For example, he likes the flyover. So he wants to decongest traffic in that axis of Obioma/Alaoji axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. And that’s very good. If he achieves that project, it will be a mile stone for our people.”

The Ebonyi governor said he would also visit Abia State to look at some projects being carried out by Ikpeazu with the aim to replicate them in his state.

“I am also going to visit Abia state to see a number of numerous things he is doing in the state so that Ebonyi can copy some”, he added.

Umahi pointed out that though peer review was not a new approach in governance, it had been adopted by the present crop of governors in the South-East to enhance the development of the zone.

He stated that the current set of governors in the country were disposed to sharing ideas to develop their various states as, according to him, they are differently talented.
