Lagos vows to improve synergy among Emergency Responders….Trains Responders on use of modern life saving techniques

Lagos State Government has reiterated its determination to improve inter agency collaboration, at both the formal and informal levels towards the promotion of team work among safety and emergency responders just as measures to improve on life saving and swift response time to incident and distress calls
Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr Oluseye Oladejo said that the training is to foster unity of purpose, cooperation and synergy among diverse groups of emergency.
“I am aware that the main objective of this training is to foster unity of purpose, cooperation and synergy among diverse groups of emergency responders in Lagos State” he said.
He said this at the workshop themed ‘Synergy Among Safety Corps, Security Personnel and Emergency Responders to Actualise Value to life’ which took place at the Lagos Travel Inn Hotel, Ikeja on Thursday.
Oladejo emphasized the need for an improvement in renewal and sustenance of the existing synergy amongst the various agencies saddled with the responsibility of managing safety and emergencies in order to prevent loss of life and also to improve response time to distress calls at all times.
He implored participants to actively participate in the workshop as this would ensure improved collaboration, increase productivity and improve response time to emergencies.
“I implore you all to participate actively in the proceedings as this would not just ensure improved collaboration, but will also increase productivity, improve response time and more germane, to continue to improve the living conditions of the people through best policies and programmes, Oladejo said.

He reiterated that Lagos is not only determined to institutionalize interagency co-ordination but is equally desirous of improving Inter-sectorial collaboration amongst Emergency Responders.

“I have no doubt that His Excellency Mr Akinwunmi Ambode is determined to continuously and relentlessly promote safety culture in the State by adopting best practices and deploying world class resources available to address the challenges of managing emergencies and disasters in the State
We therefore recognise the need to continue to advocate inter-sectoral collaboration and promote community participation policies designed to mitigate the impact of potential disasters using modern strategies”, the Commissioner said
In his remarks, Chairman Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency Rtd DIG Israel Ajao said that Government would continuously and relentlessly promote safety culture in the State.
According to him, “By adopting best practices and deploying world class resources available to address the challenges of managing emergencies and disasters in the State, we have continually advocated for inter-sectorial collaboration and promote community participation in Government policies designed to mitigate the impact of potential disasters”, the Neighbourhood Safety boss said.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr Jemilade Longe reaffirmed the readiness of the government to continue to push for timely and swiftly response to emergency situations across the state. He further urged the attendees to use the opportunity to synergise and assist the government in its efforts to promote safety and make emergency sustainable.
