Emir of Kano, top diplomats, federal legislators, others come to New Jersey for Humanity for Africa Foundation program


Among the personalities expected at the high profile event are the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sanusi (CFR), who is the Royal Father of the Day, Ambassador Tanko Suleiman Abubakar, Marafan Kebbi, Consul General of Nigeria in New York, who is Chairman of the occasion and Hon. Ugochukwu Nwaokoro, Deputy Mayor, International & Diaspora Affairs, City of Newark, New Jersey, who is Co-Chairman.
His Excellency, Professor Tijani Mahammad-Bande, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations will be the Keynote Speaker while Hon. Aminu Shehu Shagari, a Ranking Member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and Hon. Rita Orji, Chairman, House of Representatives’ Committee on Diaspora are Special Guests.
The program, which has as its them ,”Educational Development in Nigeria: The Role of the Diaspora,” will hold at Best Western Robert Treat Hotel, 50 Park Place, Newark,New Jersey 07102 from 8am to 2pm.
Awardees include the Igbo Catholic Community of the Archdiocese of Newark, Mrs. Adeyemi Omojola Fatoba of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Jimmy Sherlock , Founder, Reborn International, Val Frakas Amadi, Founder, Val Media/Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. and Joseph Adewunmi, President/Founder, Amarachi Restaurant, Brooklyn NY.
