Major General Abba Dikko has take over the mantle of leadership of Operation Lafiya Dole theater command from Major General Rogers Nicolas.
General Dikko, while taking over the Command on Tuesday called on all stakeholders to join hands to end Book Haram insurgency in the Northeast.
He made the call when taking over the mantle of leadership of Operation Lafiya Dole Theater, at the Command and Control Centre at the Maimalari cantonment Maiduguri on Tuesday.
He said “I appeal to you all to join hands with me to bring desired peace to the Northeast. I want all stakeholders in the theater to continue to strengthen our relationships and cooperation until we bring sustainable peace to our dear country.”
“I am here as the Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole and Operation Last Hold. . I enjoin you , more especially the media to continue to give us your maximum cooperation and support, as we wipe out those that don’t want our country to live in peace, as we don’t have a better country than Nigeria ” General Dikko added.
The theater commander said in the last three months that he had been in the theater, he has been watching and observed the support and objective reportage of the media and urged them to continue to support him.
In his remarks, the outgoing theater commander, Major General Rogers Nicolas called officers and soldiers of the theater to extend same cooperation he enjoyed to his successor.
” I thank the Chief of Army Staff for finding me fit for the assignment, I also thank officers and soldiers of the theater whom without your cooperation. we will not achieve the height we achieved and the media for your support, ” he added.
While thanking Governor Kashim Shettima and Borno state government for their support, he appreciated the support and cooperation of members of civilian JTF, other sister security agencies and the good people of Borno state.
