The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has approved portfolios for the 26 new Commissioners in the state.
They are Sulaiman Usman (SAN) Commissioner of Justice & Attorney General, Muahmmad Arzika Tureta who was former commissioner for Water Resources now takes charge of Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Usman Sulaiman Danmadami former State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is the new commissioner of Works.
Sa’idu Umar was assigned Finance Ministry while Abdulkadir Jeli Abubakar III, retains his former Ministry of Home Affairs.
Three women got commissionership positions. They are Professor Aisha Madawaki; Ministry of Basic & Secondary Education; Dr Kulu Haruna Abubakar, Science and Technology and Kulu Abdullahi Sifawa who retained the Women Affairs Ministry.
Abdullahi Maigwandu is in charge of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Surajo Marafa Gatawa, Ministry of Lands & Housing and Isa Bajini Galadanchi, Ministry of Higher Education
Musa Ausa takes charge of the Ministry of Rural Development while Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo is Commissioner for Information.
Abubakar Zaki Magawata Tambuwal is in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Prof Abdulkadir Usman Junaid is in the Ministry of Animal Health.
A former member of the House of Representatives, Umar Muhammad Bature, was assigned Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Muhammad Ali Inname, Ministry of Health; Col. Garba Moyi (Rtd) Careers & Security Matters and Mohammad S/Arewa, Ministry of Environment.
Alh. Aliyu Balarabe Dandin Mahe is in charge of the new Ministry of Energy ,Shehu Adamu Rara, Ministry of Budget & Economic Planning and Bashir Gidado, Ministry of Commerce.
Abdullahi Haruna Illela; Ministry of Solid Minerals, Musa Abubakar Girkau, Ministry of Youth & Sport, Sani Bunu Yabo, Ministry of Social Welfare and Shehu Muh’d Dabaga, Establishment and Pension Matters.
