Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, Saturday, monitored the biometric data capture of police officers at the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
The biometric data capture is being handled by the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information Systems (IPPIS) Department of Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.
“The Police Force is one of the biggest employers of labour on the Federal Government’s pay-roll; getting it into IPPIS is a great achievement for this administration.
“As you can see, the data capture is going on smoothly and the officers are happy because it means their salaries will be paid much more promptly and directly into their accounts.
“I am very pleased with what I can see here; it’s fast, convenient and I think this is a credit to the Nigerian Police Force and the office of the Accountant-General,’’ Adeosun said.
According to the minister, government will continue to clean up the pay-roll system to ensure that only those who are supposed to be paid salaries are on the pay-roll.
