Trusting God’s direction to move By Fr. Peter Iwuala

Beloved, stepping out of what is familiar is often difficult. Our comfort zones often feel safe, predictable, and secure. Yet the very places that seem to protect us can sometimes prevent us from receiving the blessings God has already prepared. When God calls us to move, He calls us to trust. Faith requires that we leave what we know and walk toward what only He can see. We may perceive the journey as uncertain, yet His promise ensures its certainty.

Abraham trusted God and moved as God directed him, and the outcome was enormous. Make a move! Circumstances should not discourage you. If Abraham had stayed where it was comfortable, he would have missed the unfolding of God’s covenant blessings. The same holds true for us today—obedience unlocks opportunities that comfort cannot.

We must also cast off the spirit of learned helplessness. Too often, after facing difficulties or disappointments, we begin to believe that change is impossible, that progress is beyond our reach. But God has not given us a spirit of fear or defeat; He has given us power, love, and a sound mind. The Lord calls us to stand up, to rise in faith, to take steps forward even when we do not yet see the outcome. Faith moves us from stagnation to transformation.

Taking the path of least resistance may feel easier for a time, but it rarely leads to growth. The road of faith is not always smooth, but it is always fruitful. It is on the rugged path that our trust deepens, our character strengthens, and our testimony expands. Every act of obedience draws us closer to the heart of God and the destiny He has prepared for us.

So, let us move where God directs. Let us trust when we cannot trace. Let us walk boldly in faith, knowing that God orders the steps of those who love and follow Him. May His divine hand guide our going out and our coming in, both now and forever. Amen.
