Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (m), Deputy Governor Ipalibo Harry Banigo (r) and Representative of Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Sidi Bage (JSC) during a condolence visit on Governor Wike over the death of the Attorney General of Rivers State at the Government House Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
The Chief  Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onoghen has described the passage of the Late Attorney-General of Rivers State, Emmanuel Aguma (SAN) as a great loss to the nation’s legal profession.
Speaking during a condolence visit on Governor Wike over the death of the Attorney General of Rivers State at the Government House Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Justice Onoghen  said that the Late Attorney-General exuded brilliance and commitment to the judiciary and the legal profession.
Represented by Justice Sidi Bage (JSC), the Chief  Justice Of Nigeria said that the nation’s judiciary and legal profession will miss his brilliance.
He said: “This is a great loss.  This is a loss, not only to Rivers State, but to the entire country, particularly to the legal profession.
“The Late Attorney-General of Rivers State had at his lifetime given  a clear representation of what is expected of him as a lawyer”.
He stated  that the nation  will continue to speak of the worthy legacies that the Late Attorney-General of Rivers State left behind.
The Chief Justice of  Nigeria urged the Government and people of Rivers State to be bear the loss with courage.
Responding, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike thanked the Chief Justice of Nigeria for condoling with the Rivers State Government.
Governor Wike said that the Late Attorney-General of Rivers State cherished the legal profession and worked hard for it.
He noted that Late Aguma worked for the independence of the judiciary by taking steps that promoted the administration of Justice of Rivers State
The governor added that initiated several infrastructural projects in the judiciary, which were executed by his administration to enhance access to justice.
