The people and government of Akwa Ibom State, recently trooped out en masse to the Uyo International Airport, Uyo, the state capital, to accord a rousing reception to the triumphant Akwa United Football Club of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), who last Sunday defeated Lobi Stars of Makurdi at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos to win the 2015 Federation Cup (formerly Challenge Cup).
The red carpet reception also witnessed plenty of side attractions in honour of the winning Akwa Ibom people’s team.
