ALGON seeks police partnership in crime fighting

The Association of Local Governments in Nigeria (ALGON) led by its national president, Hon Micah Y. Jiba has pledged to support the initiative of the IGP Solomon E. Arase-led management team for an enhanced community partnership that will guarantee a robust security for lives and property.

According to a statement by Acting ACP, Olabisi Kolawole, the Force Public Relations Office, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, this was made known when the executive members of the Association paid a courtesy call on the IGP in his office on Thursday at Force Headquarters Abuja.

ALGON further declared her readiness to support the Nigeria Police to fight crime and equally put an end to all the security challenges facing the country with the assistance of the community leaders.

In his remarks, the IGP appreciated the leadership of the Association for the visit, and their move to partner with the Nigeria Police. He urged them to embrace community partnership as an antidote for crimes and criminality.

While further acknowledging ALGON as the hub of security at the Local Government level, the IGP reiterated the need for them not to relent at rendering moral and logistic support to the Police at the local level with a view to boosting, fortifying and consolidating National Security. He equally enjoined them to mobilize their locals to give useful information that will nip crime in the bud to the Police.
