Put it this way, there would not be a lack of clubs eager to take the 20 year old Nigerian on. It seems like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott will remain at the club this summer – something that will surprise many – so is it “last chance saloon” for the Englishmen?
It would seem likely. This may possibly mean Wenger will place The Ox and Theo ahead of Iwobi in the pecking order as the Frenchman may use the upcoming season to evaluate their future at the club.
Realistically, Alex Iwobi could play a lot of minutes for a mid-table team next year – something that would only benefit the youngster. In his inaugural season, Alex impressed supporters and critics with his composure on the ball and his burst of pace from the wings – the Nigerian played 639 minutes for Arsenal last year. As many critics and managers around the world believe, at this age he needs to play to further develop his talent.
No speculation or rumours have arisen yet regarding a loan move for Alex Iwobi but one would think that Arsene Wenger would consider it if a suitable club made an offer.
Although on the other side of the coin, Iwobi has already proved that he can add something to the Arsenal team and that he can compete for a place on the wings.
Wherever Iwobi ends up next season – whether it be out on loan at another club or whether it be at Arsenal – he will surely benefit the club he is playing at.
