Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara has reassured Nigerians on commitment of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) commitment to fix Nigeria and her myriad problems, just as he also appealed the people ‘to be patient with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration,’ which he said ‘inherited an empty treasury and a battered nation.’
Speaking during a visit the Emir of Misau in Bauchi, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman, the Speaker said Nigerians would soon begin to reap dividends of the promises made by the APC when the 2016 budget is passed into law.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Mr. Turaki Hassan, the Speaker said the President is determined to surmount the challenges being faced in the country.
“Nigeria is passing through difficult times and that the citizens need to show more understanding and patience as damages done to the country will take time to fix,” he said.
“We cannot afford to disappoint you and the mandate you gave us. Give us and the president maximum support and we shall not disappoint you. Change is a gradual process, with patience we will bring the desired change and development you clamour for”, he said.
