A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Akwa Ibom State, Group Captain Sam Ewang Rtd has dispelled a purported rumour of his suspension from the party saying that, “nobody can suspend me from APC.”
Ewang, a former Military Administrator of Ogun and Rivers States, who was reacting to a letter credited to the State Caretaker Chairman of APC, Dr. Ita Udosen and his Secretary, Mr. Austine Ekanem dated September 18, 2021, insisted that, it was not possible for him to be suspended from the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The party in the state had announced the suspension of Group Captain Ewang, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Eseme Eyibo and others for various offences against the party.
The statement further said, Ewang and 87 others who are currently in court violated article 21 section D and Subsection (v) of the party’s constitution (October 2014 as amended).
But Ewang, while reacting to the statement in an interview with newsmen in Uyo, described his purported suspension as an ‘act of impossibility.’
According to him, “those behind it are people who have been dismissed from the party and they stand dismissed.
“Whoever mentioned anybody being sacked or suspended is a mad man. Just tell them that I said the person is a mad man. Of course you know that is not a possibility.
“These are people who have already being dismissed because they don’t know what to do; they have never done well in their professions. They have never done well in public offices because they don’t have leadership ideas.”
Asked whether he has come across the statement circulating online, Ewang said “I am not interested in whatever is trending.
“They are just struggling to see if they can survive. They have been dismissed and they’re dismissed from the party”, Ewang stated.
