‎NiDCOM confirms release of Nigerian girls detained in Mauritius

‎The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has confirmed the release of the Nigerian girls who were previously detained in Mauritius.
‎
‎Following the development, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, NiDCOM is in close engagement with the relevant Nigerian Embassy, which has formally taken up the matter with the authorities concerned to ensure accountability and prevent a recurrence, a statement issued by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Commission’s Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, said.

‎According to Hon. Dabiri-Erewa, the girls have been safely released in Nairobi, and currently en route to Nigeria.
‎
‎The NiDCOM Chairman, expressing empathy, hoped that the affected ladies would be willing to share their experiences, to inform any necessary follow-up actions and support measures.
‎
‎Dabiri-Erewa reiterated that the welfare, safety and protection of Nigerians, wherever they may be, will always remain a priority, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, to support Nigerians at home and across the diaspora.‎
