Barr. Mrs. Rauta Joshua Dakok has become the new Head of Service of Plateau State.
Rauta Dakok (nee Makama) took over from Engr. Sunday Hyat who has retired from Service, having reached the retirement age and also served a four months’ extension granted him by the Governor.
According to a statement by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the immediate past Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, Barr. Dakok was until her appointment, Permanent Secretary, General Administration, in the office of the Head of Service.
A graduate of Law from the University of Jos (1988), Barr Rauta Dakok started work with the Plateau State Government in 1990 as State Counsel and rose steadily, holding various positions, to reach the peak of the civil service where she served as Permanent Secretary in various Ministries.
The Ministries where she served as Permanent Secretary include Civil Service Commision, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Budget and Economic Planning and Finance. She also served as the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice.
She also served in several Committees and Boards and was involved in many crucial assignments at the State and National levels.
She also served as Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Plateau State, is an active member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and was once chair of FIDA, Plateau State Chapter.
