Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has ordered the demolition of a four bedroom building located in Anguwan Mahaukata within Bauchi metropolis where over 200 rounds of ammunition and other dangerous weapons were discovered.
The Governor’s Chief of Staff, Dr Ladan Salihu, who represented him, said the Governor ordered the demolition of the building, which, he said, had become notorious for harboring dangerous boys popularly called “Sara-Suka”.
According to him, demolition of the house was to serve as a lesson and as deterrent to those hoarding arms or criminals in their houses.
He added that security agencies discovered the ammunition after they received information from some good Samaritans in the state.
When newsmen contacted the PPRO of the State Police Command, SP Ahmed Wakili, he said that as of the time of this report, he did not have the full details of the situation but confirmed that ammunition was discovered in the building.
The PPRO then promised to make information available to the press as soon as possible on the issue.
