Bauchi state Speaker empowers youths, women in Ningi local

Bauchi State  Speaker of  the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abubakar Suleiman  has empowered 500 youth and women with cash, motorcycles and mobile phones in his Constituency in Ningi local government  of Bauchi state.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the spokesperson of the Speaker , Mallam Abdul Ahmad Burra  and made available to pressmen.  He said  that the Speaker launched his empowerment scheme with distribution of cash, motorcycles and mobile phones to the youth and women to kick start their businesses.

According to him, about N5 million was shared as capital to empower youth and women for them engage in small scale businesses to be self reliant.

Burra explained,  “more than 500 women in the constituency benefited from the cash gift. Youth, social media groups, elders, members of the Dangaladima Central Working Committee, coordinators etc also benefited.

“Mobile phones and motorcycles were also distributed to members of Dangaladima Youth and Social Media Forum,”

He added that the Speaker has embarked on the empowerment scheme to provide the teeming youths and women in his Constituency with capital to engage in various businesses to become self reliant.

They were also empowered so as “ to be productive and add value to the economy of Ningi Central Constituency and the state at large,” he said.

According to the spokesman, the Speaker appreciates the impact of the Federal Government’s social investment programmes such as market-moni and trader-moni which were given to some beneficiaries who are now self reliant.

The statement  also said that the  Speaker has pledged to do more to empower his constituents, saying, “today’s disbursement is just the tip of the iceberg of many empowerment schemes that are to come in Ningi Central Constituency.
