Boko Haram: Police will meet December deadline — AIG Ogunsakin assures emir of Bauchi

Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 12, Tunde Ogunsakin has assured that the Nigeria police in his Zone will stamp out insurgency by the December deadline given by the President Muhammadu Buhari.

The AIG stated this, Wednesday, during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwan Suleiman Adamu in his palace in Bauchi saying that the end of insurgency was getting very close in the country, hence, all hands must be on deck to make the mission a reality.

“We are happy that the end of insurgency in the country, particularly the north-east region is very close and the terrorists are presently on the run”

“At this time that we are facing insecurity challenges in the country, i believe that traditional rulers have a vital role to play, particularly in giving advice to the police on how to sustain peace,” Tunde Ogunsakin added

The AIG zone 12 who is charge of Bauchi, Yobe and Borno state saidthat the security situation in Bauchi state was not challenging when compared to other neighboring states and commended traditional leaders for their effort in maintaining peace in the state.

In his address, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwan Suleiman Adamu commended the federal government and security agents for their effort to end insurgency in the country.

Alhaji Rilwan Adamu then assured the AIG of the determination of his emirate council to maintain peace in the state, adding that he will support him to complete his duty in the state.
