Burna Boy, Davido, other Nigerian Grammy Awards nominees are all winners – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu has said that all Nigeria’s celebrity artists and 2024 Grammy Awards nominees, Burna Boy, Davido, Olamide, Tems, Asake and Ayra Starr are winners.
Though the music sensations failed to emerge winners in the categories in which they were nominated, the President still hailed them in superlative terms.
In a congratulatory message to the superstars, Tinubu said that the country’s musical marvels “have put Nigeria on the chart of cultural command through their artistry and anthemic earworms, building and earning our nation enormous soft power.”
In the message, by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, his Special Adviser Media & Publicity, President Tinubu commended the exceptionally talented artists “for their fidelity to the art, audacity, and discipline in the pursuit of excellence.
“Our superstars nominated for the Grammy Awards are all winners. I am proud of their exploits. They represent that Nigerian ideal; the courage to strive and succeed against all odds and the hope to stay true to purpose. I congratulate and thank them for being exemplary envoys of Nigeria,” he stressed.
