Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Matters, Dr. Waripamowei Dudufa, has called on the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to urgently call Gov. Seriake Dickson to order and restore peace, justice and discipline to the party in the state.
According to Dr. Dudufa, unless this was done, the Governor and the party would be voted out of power in the governorship election in the state next year.
In a press statement made available to our Correspondent in Yenagoa, Dudufa, who was reacting to his expulsion from the PDP by the state chapter of the party, Wednesday, said that Gov. Dickson has been ” acting like he has conquered the people of Bayelsa and has turned the state to a private estate belonging to him and his family members alone.”
According to presidential aide, it is no secret that the governor “has brought the PDP to its lowest ebb in the history of democracy in Bayelsa State due to his bad governance, corruption, poor human relations, acts of impunity, injustice and nepotism,” stressing that he would have ignored his expulsion along with eight others for alleged anti-party activities “as I have been ignoring such unwarranted provocations in the past, but I have realised that my continuous silence seems to embolden Gov. Seriake Dickson to further acts of impunity.”
He drew the attention of the national secretariat of party to what he called “the antics of Gov. Dickson, part of which is to weaken the PDP so that when eventually he crosses to the APC (All Progressives Congress) as we know he plans to, the PDP in Bayelsa will be too weak to defeat his new party at the polls.” That, Dudufa said, is one of the reasons the Governor is fighting the State PDP Chairman, Col. Sam Inokoba retd.
” Luckily, his plans are well known to all and Bayelsa people are waiting patiently for the elections to come so that he will be voted out of office ignominiously.
If however, Dickson remains in the PDP and gets the PDP ticket by hook or crook, then Bayelsa voters will massively vote Dickson and the PDP out of power,” he warned, noting that “the general cliché is that it is Bayelsa United versus Dickson and Family.”
He insisted that “Gov. Dickson does not have respect for constituted authority or his elders, thus he can wilfully attack and destroy a whole Federal High Court in Yenagoa, just because he feared the Court was going to deliver a judgement that was likely not to favour him,” pointing out that the governor’s “disrespect for both President Jonathan and the First Lady is very well known. That is the reason he could not even be patient to allow the President peacefully leave office before embarking on the current disruptive actions.”
Dudufa, therefore urged the NWC of the PDP to urgently intervene “so that we will remain united to give the much needed support to our father, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.”
