PDP congratulates winners of primary elections in Sokoto State

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has congratulated winners of the just concluded primary elections in the state.

This is contained in a congratulatory message by Abdullahi Yusuf, the state PDP Publicity Secretary, on Thursday in Sokoto.

He described the election as free, transparent and hitch free.

According to Yusuf, the exercise is in line with the electoral process of the party and that of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He described the emergence of the state PDP gubernatorial candidate, Malam Sa’idu Umar as a great foresight which would solidify the gains recorded by the present administration in the state.

The party, therefore, urged its supporters to remain united and canvass more support to enable it win all elective positions in the upcoming 2023 general polls.

“It also commended Gov. Aminu Tambuwal for the successes recorded in key economic areas and human capital development in the last seven years,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the PDP has conducted primaries for State House of Assembly, Governorship, Senate and House of Representatives tickets.

Umar, a former Secretary to the Sokoto State Government on Wednesday clinched the PDP gubernatorial ticket for 2023 election.

The development followed the withdrawal of four other aspirants and affirmation by 695 of the 755 delegates in the state.
